I thought some (or a few) of you might find this interesting: When I was going through family records in December, I came across old documents including receipts and property deeds.
A yearlong farm lease from 1947 to 1948 in the Mid-West cost $7 per acre.
A hospital stay in 1933 cost $3.50 per day.
And, the reason I stuck this post in this thread, the car prices:
- 1920s Ford Coupe: $350. - 1939 Ford Tudor: $414.72. - 1949 Kaiser Deluxe: $2,441.50, with an additional $1.50 for the license and title. - 1951 four-door Dodge Coronet: $2,413.77. For an additional $21.55, you could get "2 Back Up Lites and Directional Signal Lites." - 1955 four-door Chevy Bell Aire: $2,155.75.
