Here in Texas, it's that way. Minors can drink in restaurants with their parents.

If I remember right, the state makes a distinction between "bars" and "restaurants" based on the percentage of alcohol sold. It's something like less than 30% of total sales and it's a restaurant, and greater than 30% of total sales and it's a bar.

I think minors can drink in restaurants, with parental consent, but not bars.

Been a long time since I was a minor, so I may be mistaken about these laws.
