The weather here is much like everywhere else in that it is hottest when the sun shines and colder when overcast. Just plant solar-powered air conditions outside in clearings; they'll run when there's enough sunlight. Uncoincidentally, that's also at the hottest, sunniest days. > > Ga"I don't see how this could fail"be
Air conditioners create heat. One side would be blowing out cold air, yes, but the other would be blowing out hot air (to cool off the compressor). I'm sure you could come up with some sort of arrangement to ensure that the cool area was maximized, but then you run into the problem of building enough solar cells to generate the electricity to run them all. Because air conditioners need a LOT of power.
Also, consider this: you would need to buy a lot of air conditioners to do this effectively, right? Where do air conditioners come from? Trees? NOPE. Factories. What do factories do? Pollute. What does pollution (allegedly) do? Create global warming. So you'd have to build more air conditioners, creating more factory pollution, (allegedly) driving up temperatures even higher, necessitating the need for more air conditioners, and it's an endless cycle. Assuming the environmentalists are right.
