I'm sure most of you don't know that my wife and I just returned from a two month trip across the country and back. It doesn't matter. I figure I can report on it for those that may be interested. Because of all the travelling and the short time frame and the lack of real housing or a job, I won't make the RU. That makes me sad because there are a lot of people I would love to see.
We left on June 17th and went south. Las Vegas was cool but very nose drying hot and windy. I'd go back but probably in the winter.
I don't know if I'd want to stay at the Pleasant Valley Prison.
Or live in Zzyzxx, CA.
The Grand Canyon is unreal.
I went to Winslow, AZ but I didn't stand on the corner. I'm not a big Eagles fan.
Everyone should get to Santa Fe, NM at least once in their life. Eat some New Mexican Food. Grub.
I figured that Texas would have a huge sign welcoming us to their state because everything is "bigger and better" there, or so they say. I was wrong. Just some construction signs.
Pulled Pork is the best.
Go to Oklahoma City and see the memorial. Very moving.
What is so special about Graceland?
I wish I had more time in Nashville.
Charleston was interesting but maybe I needed more time there to get the full flavor.
If you are ever hankerin' for some mini golf, Myrtle Beach has got it.
I could live in Chapel Hill, NC. No problem.
Williamsburg requires at least two days.
We saw a seagull carrying a crab while crossing the Potomac. I guess they do have good seafood there.
Does anything happen in Dover, Delaware?
Philadelphia is probably the grossest smogville ever.
In New Jersey, beware of factories belching brown fumes.
I loved New England. So green, so much water. Maybe someday it will be where I'm supposed to live.
Sam and Leen visit to be detailed later.
Driving makes my neck hurt.
Why does Niagara Falls, Ontario smell like bacon?
Detroit doesn't seem so bad if you squint.
My friend's dairy smells like something. I'm not sure what, though.
I need to go back to Saint Louis for some Barbecue and Jazz and baseball.
Lightning and hail storms are loud.
How come I could barely see the Rocky Mountains in Denver?
Wyoming is cool. Watch out for Coyotes and Roadrunners.
Why doesn't the Salt Lake area smell like bacon?
Now I know why Nevada built casinos.
California has a lot going for it. And I'll take an earthquake any day over a hurricane or tornado.
