This is such a great idea. I've stopped updating my own page of weekly new experiences, since I'm currently on holiday and having new experiences at the rate of several million a day instead of one a week, but if you want to see the previous things I came up with, here is the link.

In my case, they all had to be free or cheap things. Mostly I just looked in the newspaper to see what was happening around the place that week. That's how I found the astronomy lecture. I also found a number of other cool free lectures, movies etc which I didn't have the chance to go to before this trip. For example, the Japanese Consulate in my city has a monthly free Japanese film and culture evening open to the public, which I will go to in the future.
