I'm going to take this thing to the shop.

Two little problems:
Computer: It only works ever other day. Yesterday, I couldn't even get on line. The day before that it worked fine, just like today. The day before, the day before it wouldn't stay on line and kept locking up. The day before that, it was working just fine. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Car: The battery is fine. The starter is fine. About one time out of three, it won't start. The problem is that there is a little switch on the clutch pedal, the purpose of which is to keep the engine from starting when the clutch petal isn't all the way to the floor. No problem when it works right, but two out of three ain't good enough. The dealer doesn't have a switch, can't get to it today anyway and doesn't have enough mechanics tomorrow. Besides, they say, we don't see very many of that model with a manual shift. (They must have seen that one; they sold it to me.) I know what I have to do. I have to locate that switch under all those hoses, wires and mysterious plastic boxes. Then I have to disconnect it and hook the wires together. The car will think that the clutch is depressed and the engine will start. I drove manual shift cars without a switch like that for 40 years, and I can do it again. It's just there for people who are dumb enough to start a car with the clutch engaged and the transmission in gear. I hate working on cars.
