My job, one year later posted by Brunnen-G on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at 03:33:39:
I loved reading this post, and I love your outlook on jobs and the way they fit into life. You decide you want a job, so you set out to get it. If it takes a bit of doing to get there, that's OK, because that's part of the adventure. Of course you'll find yourself online at 3 a.m. because of your insane work hours, but hey, it's not boring, and you're still working toward a specific goal. I greatly admire that, and I hope I never reach the point where I stop reaching for goals.
For that matter, I think it's something that everyone can benefit from. While some people have a job or career that will hopefully not change for the next 20 years, that doesn't mean that all goals have been met. There are always new sights to see, people to meet and things to learn. You can never get too old to embark on an adventure, even if that adventure consists solely of a walk down a new street. It's the act of getting there in which the adventure lies.
Thank you, Brunnen-G, for being an inspiration and for entertaining me with fascinating accounts such as these. I know there are times when your job has seemed a whole lot worse than the brief synopsis of it that you just gave, but you took the good parts of it and turned them into something fun and inspiring to read.
