I'm stuck really early in the game and I know I'm probably being stupid or missing something really obvious but I need some help.

You're Carrying:

Diving Mask
Pick
Life Preserver
Dead Fish

Magic Armor of Magic
Key of Questioning
Food Rations

I don't have a clue what to do next. I tried getting the rope and bucket from the well, but it still says I have nothing to cut it with. I have went everywhere and tried everything but nothing will work. Someone please help. Thanks.
