I was *extremely* surprised when I saw 60% had never joined because they didn't want to. I myself plan to join the Marines or Army, and my father was two months away from Vietnam. I was just wondering why some of you people weren't interested. Was it a personal situation or was it you did't want any personal risk?

I actually almost joined the Air Force after high school. However, my dad didn't want any of his girls in combat. So, because I love my father and didn't want to cause him undo worry, I didn't join. If there had been a 'I didn't join because my family would rather I didn't', I would have checked it.
