Murkon's Refuge: HOw does one kill this thing? posted by Ben on Thursday, June 20, 2002, at 15:10:52:
The way I envision it is this, he surely strikes the thing multiple times. Each time he strikes, he uses that point as a jumping off point and leaps higher up the creatures body till he's standing on its head stabbing it repeatedly between the eyes.

I also noticed that Tipero, my party leader and a master assassin, is capable of killing several of them in a single round. > > I can understand how Tipero could slay an opponent as fierce and powerful as a Balrog; if his level is high enough, he can overcome any enemy regardless of its power. > > Now, I'm sure we all remember the massive demon from the LOTR movie, cloaked in fire and dazzling special effects, but do you also remember from the book, that its wings spread from one end to the other of the Great Hall of Moria? > > My point is this: Not only was the Balrog from LOTR a fierce creature, but it was also the size of the Empire State Building. Now, Tipero, a dwarf, couldn't have been much more than the size of an outhouse. Now imagine standing an outhose next to the Empire State Building, or even just a small skyscraper. How does someone fight somethign that much BIG? Is he just whacking it in the toe until it passes out from the pain? does he climb up it's leg and find a more vital organ? If anybody has any idea how it works, please tell me.
