Now I'm trying to find out more special habits (e.g. the streakers, or what I've heard about the "liberation of the gardengnomes" -- stuff like that)

Liberation of the Garden Gnomes? Now, that IS silly. I haven't heard about it.

I suggest that you search on the web for "The Monster Raving Loony Party" - a real political party in the UK, currenly led by a pet cat as far as I can remember - for more British cultural phenomenons.

As for the streakers, all I know is that there is one man who has streaked over 100 times at different sporting and cutural occasions, including at the snooker, football, horse racing and even, most recently, in front of the Queen. The police prosecuted him for this, and confiscated his special quick-release velcro trousers as a result.
