There have been several messages on this board alluding to the level 5 pools. I assure you, they exist, and I've been down to the bottom of them many a time.

You should always explore levels completely. You never know how tough the monsters are going to be till you confront them, and every once in a while you find something really nifty.

Also, exploring is part of the fun, so I won't tell you where they are. If you're so desperate for spoilers, just cast a light spell or MAP or something.
