Trails of Anguish (TOA) bus help

okay, i've completed all the tasks the professor gave me, i've gotten the nerds to the promise land, and i've even found the way into the bus. But everytime I get into the bus, the director makes me leave. I believe I'm missing an item. I've been examining the area around the construction as I have been told to do in previous hints, but have found nothing. Can someone point me in the general direction? Also, the name of the item I am missing would be very helpful. I have:

High-Heeled Shoes
Course Textbooks
Jug of Nanobots

T-Shirt

Rusty Key
