Favorite (and least favorite!) movies? posted by uselessness on Sunday, May 5, 2002, at 14:34:25:
Action: - Goldeneye (heck, just about any James Bond movie) - Rush Hour 2 (heck, just about any Jackie Chan movie - except the lame and boring Mr. Nice Guy) - The Adventures of Robin Hood (the one with Errol Flynn)
Adventure/Fantasy/Sci-Fi: - The Star Wars movies (so far) - The Fellowship of the Ring
Drama/Suspence: - Rear Window - Suspicion - Now, Voyager - Casablaca - The Maltese Falcon
Comedy: - The Princess Bride - Seven Chances (Heck, just about any Buster Keaton movie) - Duck Soup (Heck, just about any Marx Brothers movie. Except Love Happy - great title song, lousy movie) - How To Marry a Millionaire - It's In The Bag - Hold That Ghost - Arsenic and Old Lace - Harvey - The Man Who Came To Dinner - The Passionate Plumber (a little-known Buster Keaton talkie) - Out West - The Court Jester (heck, just about any Danny Kaye movie) - The Three Musketeers (the goofy Ritz Brothers version, that is) - Our Miss Brooks - The Hudsucker Proxy - We're No Angels
Animated: - Pretty much all Pixar movies except the first Toy Story - The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Beauty and the Beast - Shrek - Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 (excluding the annoying celebrity segments. I HATED them)
Western: - El Dorado (TEH BETS JOHN WAYNE MOVEI EVAH)
Horror: - Frankenstein (I first saw this in a small, 50-year-old theater one Halloween night. At midnight. Ruled.) - The Mummy - The Creature From The Black Lagoon - The Invisible Man - The Wolf Man - Tarantula - Them! - The Thing From Another World - King Kong (the original one), Son of Kong (the little-known sequel made the same year).
And I'm adding a category - Musicals: - Singin' In The Rain - On The Town - The Wizard of Oz - Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Movies That You Never, Ever Want To See - Trust Me: Wait, am I warning you to never watch these movies, or am I listing movies I've never seen and don't want to see? Eh, whatever. I'll warn you. - The Duke (read my IABBBBM review of it for a clue how horrifying this is) - Susan Slept Here (I wanted to like it, but this is the sort of movie that just sits on your head and crushes it)
Movies I want to see: - Far too many to list here.
