How much damage is your character doing in melee attacks? I would assume that she has close to 30's in all stats and speed over 10, so even with a staff of healing or something she should be doing damage comparable to THROTTLE. I think.

My first attempt at a one-character game is doing alright; I retrained my character from an Assassin to a Knight once his AC was over 50, and I'm pretty confident he can get to and take out Murkon now, but I want him armed with some Items of Knighthood just for kicks. As with you, Murphy's Law has dictated that I find every other item first.
