Level 6 - Murkon's Refuge

I can't go thru 2.9 on level 6 . The sign is there and I don't get it.And I don't see another way to explore level 6..I have mapped floors 1-5 so I would think I would have the object to get thru..I haven't seen a post like this so what am I missing?? It's probably so obvious..BTW, I have to thank everyone for posting.. I have found all your tips useful!!!!!
