Believe it or not, I have the exact same problem. Level 5? My party could do it in their sleep with only a few minor bruises. Level 8? They'll be roasted before their eyes have adjusted to the lighting.
I only have one Wizard, he's called Phaser. He will soon become level 14. Is there some fancy Wizard spell on level 14 that would help me on my way?
