I have been using razors (with my druid), firebomb (with my sorcerer), and pesilence (with my wizard) because those are the highest spells to kill monsters that they know right now. What spells can I use to kill them? > > > > > There are two good ways to determine what spell to use. > > > > One is to View Spells, Show Details and see what does the most damage. Of course, some monsters are resistant to either heat, cold or poison, so most numerical damage isn't always the best way to go. > > > > The second way is just to see what works best. You might want to use Sorcerer spell 21, if it works well, but it doesn't work on some monsters. Also, Fire Dragons will be resistant to fire spells, and so on. Certain higher Sorcerer spells that you're on the verge of learning will be very useful for dragons and other strong enemies. > > > > Try to take out the largest group of breathers first, and then work on the others. A bunch of dead dragons does less damage than three bunches of wounded ones. I find that it's often useful to inflict two group-damage spells on the same group of monsters, just to make sure it's dead. > > > > Don't forget that a fast swordsman can take out many monsters at once. That might be useful for wiping out a medium-sized group of breathers, or topping up an almost-strong-enough spell. > > > > ^v^:)^v^ > > F"why do all dragons have such bad breath?"B > > Every time I use spell 21, it doesn't work. I really do like spell 20 because it works (usually) no matter what. You're right for me to go through my spells to see which one works best. And usually my assassins and rogue can kill a group of 5-6 monsters by themselves. > You'll have to try to remember which monsters Sorcerer #21 works on. Sorcerer #20 will always work (because it causes unavoidable damage), but won't always kill everything (obviously). Also, if it does work, higher IQ will make it hit for closer to the top of the range. Wisdom will do the same for Wizards.
> One thing I did learn is that running away doesn't work. I had a group of monsters I ran into and when I saw what it had (2 groups of eyestalks, a group of dragons, and a group of ghosts), I tried running away four different times, one right after another and it didn't work. I nearly got myself killed again! Luckily, my sorcerer had enough points to cast HOME. > You'll need higher Agility to run away successfully. Agility will also help you attack early in the round, and help you ambush monsters, which leaves less of them alive to attack you. Dexterity will help you land more of your hits.
> But I do have another question. I found a big room with a monster that moves around and a line of 7 monsters at the bottom and they have treasure chest in front of them. Before entering, there is a sign that says "Storage Area". I believe that this is the room that has the bronze key. Am I right or am I wrong? If I'm wrong, don't tell me where it is. Thanks.
Keys aren't in treasure. They'll always be there by themselves, but they might be next to treasure. Find all the stuff in that room, and you'll know for sure. See if you can do it without killing the monsters. There's a real easy way to do that. Anyway, rooms with lots of treasure are always a good thing.
