Depends on the item. My little formula just calculated the odds of having a non-standard item appear in the shop, but that item wouldn't necessarily be something obviously good. Might be *any* item that doesn't normally appear in the shop.

Items found in pools are generated as if you found the item in regular treasure three levels deeper in the dungeon. So level 7 pools yield up objects you find just lying around on level 10. Pools on levels 8-10 are (usually) better than regular treasure anywhere.
