You'll level up in a hurry, and you'll eventually make it all the way to the Gatekeeper, who pays off big experience. Those levels will help you get to Lyesis, and you might want to prove to yourself that your party can take out the Gatekeeper before sending them on a journey that got your other party killed. By the time you get to Lyesis, you might not even want your old party, except for a few stray items they may be carrying. > > Seeing as not even Kaliti, let alone Lyesis, can be reached without killing the Gatekeeper, I'm going to have to kill the Gatekeeper anyway, whether I want to prove it or not. > > I'm going to stick to my plan, which is to get the second party to Lyesis first (or as far as it can before it ends up the same as the first party), and when they reach Lyesis I will mix up the parties half-and-half and go back to Perinn, where I will resurrect the 3 dead guys I picked up from Lyesis. > > After that I will go back to Lyesis, get the other 3 dead guys to my party, and go back to Perinn and resurrect them. It's not only reasonable, but rather heroic. However, the first thing to do when you reach your other party should be to see which of them you want to keep. You might not want to resurrect the rest at all, unless you want a backup plan in case this happens again. If that's the case, you should leave the abandoned party alive and with a couple weapons.
I seem to remember winding up with four Gatekeeper's Keys at one point.
