Do not even think about trying to get rid of the wizard spot. It adds a definite touch of class.
Judging by your inventory, there's a sidequest you need to do still. If you go east down a certain path on the plaza, you will receive the honor of being beat up and being escorted to jail. Later on down that path you'll be able to wash up and start lightening your load.
I'd suggest making a map of the plaza and see which path you haven't taken. You're not too far away from your next task.
