Incidentally, there's also a new movie coming out at the end of the month about a boy who gets a watch that stops time. He is outside of it's influence, as well as, somehow, a bad guy (French Stewart). I can understand them explaining his immunity - some 'the watch has a protective force field' type deal, but another person too? Remains to be seen how they explain that one away.

Also, there's an amazing book by Alan Lightman, Einstein's Dreams, where he examines different possibilities of time. And in one of the stories, there is a place on the earth where time does stop. And certain people choose to journey towards it (although they can never get there because the closer you get the more time slows until you are moving at the rate of millimeters per eon or something like that).
