I left my rope tied to the battlement and now its gone nor it is in my inventory. Does anyone know what's up with that? A glitch?

Please help. I have already had to start over from the beginning because my game didn't save.

Also can if it is a glitch will I be able to make it through without the rope so I dont have to start over again?
