Three. Lode Runner was my favorite game back in the glory days of my Apple IIe. In fact, I have both the computer and the game sitting in a box about five feet away from me, and I'm liable to set it up again if I'm not careful.

My Dad and I worked our way through the 150 levels of Lode Runner more or less cooperatively. We took notes on each level, writing down what seemed to be the best strategy for one. It was a grand thing when I finally beat level 150.

The Scotsman is one up on me. I had no interest in replaying all the levels again "FASTAR" after the first time through, so I generally stopped about then, or at least stopped playing seriously enough to worry too much about staying alive.

When Sierra/Dynamix's remake of Lode Runner came out, I was a little dubious about what they'd do to the game, but I was cautiously excited. I couldn't figure out if they'd actually get the weird badguy movement algorithm right, which was about 50% of what made the original game so much fun. Turned out they did, and the extra objects and things they added are in the spirit of the original game even if they aren't strictly canon. So the remake is one of my favorite games now, too. I never played the 3D one, though, although I think I own it.

Anyway, incredible game, that.
