Quite a volley of questions, there. Don't worry, you'll get plenty of help on this forum. The dog doesn't mean a thing; he's just there for decoration. Hold on to that stake(oops, i meant stick), though. As for the chasm, I guess you mean the broken bridge. You need something to anchor it down with; try nosing around by the volcano. Speaking of the volcano, don't worry about it yet; you need a special ring and you're still a ways from getting it. Do what you can at the farmhouse; explore around there a bit and do whatever doesn't get you killed. (The garden especially will be a big help to you in dealing with some creatures). Wow, that's a mouthful. Hope it helps!
