Ummm let me see if I remember correctly:
You need more gold pieces, yup yup yup. And you did the right thing with the ones you found... keep giving them to the soothsayer. You'll need a few more pieces to get past the fire.
Sorry, but I really can't remember where the keys, dagger, and scroll were found. Keep searching the ground for gold pieces.
