Story Hunt: Duke of Gloom

I know, I know I'm really pathetic, but i can't get past the first chapter of the Duke of Gloom story. I tried the "Blood red logo" thing backwards and got "ogo der doolb" of course. So I took off the first 3 letters and the next 4 spelled "lder" which would be a "wise old man" right? But I end up with "olb" and I can't figure out what it means. I know its on the site somewhere (obviously), but I don't know whether its supposed to be the name of something or a hint about it, or if I'm just completely whacked.
Haw"By the way, I hope you guys can come up with the money to pay my therapy bill. j/k"kin
