Message Forum: still stuck

I've done everything with the well at least 5 times, and I must've raised & lowered that stupid bucket 10 times at least, yet all I've found there is a fish. I can't do anything in the forest except drop things in the pool and make the rock swallow me. Here's what I have:
diving mask
armor
pick
key of questioning
life preserver
food
dead fish

Please someone tell me where to go next! Thanks
