If she's blocked the door, then you should be done in there. You can keep getting in there until you have finished your task there.

Now you should have another item for your inventory. See what you can do with that. As a hint, think about what Verna takes great pride in (and which you may have dented). Check that out, and it should be easy to figure out what to do from there.

For more help, find a computer and read other people's e-mail. It's impolite, but it helps.

By the way, the thing you dropped, you shouldn't need it any more. But you can go get another one if you really want to.
