Around the orc corpse, but not the same location. If you see the words, "peanut butter" anywhere, search there. Or is it "jello bath"? And you found the same jewel in the same general area you found the cat. Again, not the same location, but not too far away. Look for some orange flowers that melt away when you touch them, and you'll be in the right area.

For the tower, go due south from the chasm. I'm assuming by tower you mean that thing with no door and no apparent way up to the second floor.
