I was stuck where you are now only a few minutes ago. I finally realized there were two main mysteries that I needed the answer to:
1. What is with the cross in the chapel
2. What is the 4-digit combination to the sphynx

To solve one of those, I went to every room in the house again. Finally, I looked CAREFULLY at a book in one of the rooms that gave me what I needed.
