TOA--Halcyon Hall on fire

I started a fire on the third floor; is that bad? The firemen can't seem to put the fire out, so I can't get in the buiding with the other students, as I'd hoped. I used up my 2 rocks, so i'm stuck with a backpack. Right now I'm outisde of flaming Halcyon Hall. Any advice?
