Don't know how much help this is, but I find it helps to start with the conduit(s) where the link is broken along the parallel, align so that you don't use the broken link, and then work your way south -- connecting as you go -- till you hit the other broken link. If you hit the broken link there, then there then just switch things around on the both sides. But keep the parallels as they are (alternating).
I don't know how well I've explained that, but it's the way I deal with the conduits. A key word here is alternating.
