A hint, please! Or maybe a smack in the head, if I've overlooked the obvious . . .

I am looking for 1 more nanoxite, 1 more rubber tube, and have been unable to get to/past the barrier near Cortez.

I will keep digging everywhere in the mine and sandstone caves. Other than that, will someone please give me a pointer? Is there anything to do/find with the welded door in the supply area?

Found 3 tubes (supply, OSA, ceiling).
Visited the recuperating miner.
Visited Verna, door now blocked.
Visited Johnson who remains unconvinced.
Visited HEEC, did not do/find anything (assuming I need the 4th nanoxite).
