I live in a semi-rural area about 20 miles, as a crow flies, west of Knoxville, Tennessee. I live here more by accident than by choice. It just happened to be where I found employment in 1959. It ain't too bad, but there are other places that I would like to live. But my extended family has settled here or within a short drive of here. Otherwise, I might take my red neck and move to:
California coast, southwest Oregon, Molekai, Maui, Florida, St. Martin, or any number of places near an ocean. This area has mosquitoes that bite all day and all night all summer. In the winter, it's too cool and too damp. Spring and fall are nice, but they don't last long enough.
