When Frodo is given Sting I thought, "Cool, +2 to attacks!" and when he was given the Star of Elendil I thought, "Now he has See Invisible! Yes!" I also wondered if killing Saruman would cause lots of enchanted equipment to come spraying out around his body.

Sweet! Of course, that adds a few other new perspectives, too. Like, how the heck can Aragorn be so useful when, as a dunedan ranger, it should take about three-quarters of a jillion experience for him even to get to level two?

Like, why does it take so long before Frodo gets the Phial of Galadriel? I always find that about twenty minutes in.

It also made me wonder why, if Gandalf was around, they needed all kinds of food stores. He should know Satisfy Hunger by *now.* And he acts like it's a big deal to cast "light." "That's all the magic I can spare for now," or something. Doesn't he know that if he just rests for about twenty turns he'll get it all back?
