The British Government is currently trying to ram through all sorts of legislation through after sept. 11th.

Many of these laws (including the Pan-European Arrest Warrant and the Anti-Terrorist Bill) are recieving a lot of flak for civil liberties groups for removing important rights that British law has guaranteed for nearly 1000 years without actually solving any problems. It will soon be possible for me to be extradited for something that is not a crime in Britain, without any evidence being presented against me. It will be possible for the Government to scrutinse my life without any kind of warrant, or any reference to the Data Protection Act.

The diffence seems to be that there is a huge public outcry against such legislation in Britain. And rightly so, I think.
