As Icorex points out, you can get a stake by climbing a tree, but it really won't you do any good against the vampire, I don't think. Try to remember what else Vampires don't like. Garlic, roses, holywater, sunlight, communion wafers, crucifixes, etc etc etc.

The gnome is hungry, and want's something to eat. You'll need an item that will allow you to catch an animal somewhere else in the game.

You need a silver coin to enter the gardens. As Icorex points out, you need to search around the beginning of the game.
