> Speaking of music, (Did I hear someone say "Music?") I caught a TV broadcast on a public television station in Nashville the other evening. It was on channel 8. It featured the voice of a rather remarkable teenager named Charlotte Church. This kid is only about 17, came out of a working class neighborhood in Wales and took the music community by storm. I had heard brief clips of her singing for a couple of years, and then there she was in a 1.5 hour broadcast from Cardiff, Wales, along with the national orchestra. She sang stuff from West Side Story, Carosel, South Pacific and Carmen. Good voice with plenty of range, good stage presence, and moderately attractive to boot. She can't dance worth a flip, but doesn't need to. > Did anybody else catch that program? What did you think? > Howard
My girlfriend and I sat down and watched that very program the other night. She has an amazing vocal talent, and deserves to be where she is, if not higher. She's got more talent for singing in her left pinky than 15 Britney Spears.
