Here's the best idea of I've seen for how to go about drawing a solution out on paper (but change "eight dots" to "six dots" in both occurrences).

You can let either circle represent the east side of the station. If, for example, you let the outer circle be the east side and the inner circle be the west side, then you can imagine the inner parallel to be yet a third circle that's in between the first two circles (but don't bother drawing it).

For a point on the outer circle, to point across the outer parallel you draw an arrow pointing outward. To point across the inner parallel, you draw an arrow pointing inward (directly at the corresponding junction on the west side of the station).

For a point on the inner circle, to point across the outer parallel you draw an arrow pointing inward toward the center of the circle. To point across the inner parallel, you draw an arrow pointing outward (directly at the corresponding junction on the east side of the station).

So the important thing to remember if you do your diagram this way is that the actual direction the link points on the paper if it is pointing across the inner parallel depends on which circle you're on (and similarly for the outer parallel).

To connect two junctions at the same meridian (for example, M11W and M11E) across the inner parallel, you just have them point towards each other on your diagram. To connect them across the outer parallel, they point *away* from each other.

So, at each junction, you'll have an "L" shape made up of two arrows which are ninety degrees apart -- there's 4 choices for how to orient each one (north/inward, north/outward, south/inward, south/outward).
