Most people didn't quite understand my costume, either, and it didn't help that they thought I was saying "knight" instead of "night," even when I made sure I added "sky" on the end. I recently told a couple of college students about the costume, and they actually thought it was a neat idea. I guess you and I were just ahead of our times.

I make great mermaid costumes. I also dyed my old wedding dress pink and turned it into a Jeannie costume (I got married in Hawaii, okay?). I have a friend who, in 1999, went as a Y2K Bug. I made that costume, too. For my boss' daughter's Harry Potter birthday party, I made the CUTEST dragon masks, which turned out so well, I made some for friends' kids for Halloween this year, and even modified the idea into a unicorn for my favorite bunnie. (Bunnie = word used interchangeably for "You're our spinster 'Aunt'!" and "You're my friend's little monsters!") Once I won a costume contest for being Catwoman, but that's only because I was young and hot. The guy who dressed as a half man, half woman should have won. HA! When I was about 12, I went as a Jello box. I have some strange ideas. OH! And then there was the year I made TWO Lola From the Copacabana costumes, one for me, the Lola in the beginning of the song, with yellow feathers in my hair and a dress cut down to there, and one for my friend, who was going to be the Lola from the end of the song, with faded feathers in her hair who drank herself half blind. We were even going to hand out matches with "Copacabana" on them. Didn't get to wear mine, but I made them.
