This isn't a religon but a family of religons, and is very diverse, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Mormons, Protastants (all of 'em), maginal cults like the Waco people, and also people who belive the message but can't decide which demonition to join.

Not so. Christians are those who believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God and that his death and resurrection is the only way to salvation. That most certainly does nto cover many of the groups you name - e.g., Mormons and sects.

I am a Christian. I attend a Presbyterian church. However, I never have, nor will I ever, label myself as a certain denomination. I believe that as long as you believe that which I wrote above, and honestly believe it with all of your heart, details don't quite matter so much.

Crusades, Inquistions, Wars between the denominations, what we did the Native Americans, but I don't blame Christianity for this. Christianity is about following the word of God, of Christ. Most of the evil that came in is perversions of that message brought about by narrow minded people, who assume God is as narrow minded as they are.

amen.

as do I

>I don't belive God has a gender, but I tend to use the male pronouns because of habit, and 'it' seems to be disrepectful.

neither do i.... i think people are just much more likely to respect God if he's male, so that's how they describe it, which rather makes sense. Although Strange Interlude, by eugene o'Neil, contains an interesting, and rather sensible argument, for why God should ahve been decribed as a woman.

>I don't think any denomination has all the truth. I also think non-Christian faiths hold some inner truth as well.

there's where we definitely differ

>And I belive scientific investigation of this wonderous world God gave us is the best way to thank him for it, as we peel back the layers we constantly find more layers, and with each layer the complexity and beauty of the universe is increased.

i DO agree with that. Albert Einstein said "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

>When I think of all the time it took for humans to come on the scean after the Big Bang I am awed.

There we also seem to differ.

What else is Rinkworks for if not rambling?

Way too many people do that.... a metaphor I found that kinda works is, when you look at a lake you only see the surface... but that doesn't mean that's all there is. Same way with christianity.
