Not necessarily. If you look at it as if every situation has an odds of failure or accident, or that the law of averages applies to everything. For example: The odds of being struck in the head by an I-beam while walking through a construction site: 1:10,000. But if I could increase my good luck by 1000 times, then my own odds would be 1:10,000,000.
Maybe I could just wish to be "charmed" (followed by an exact definition). That way, those silly bad things like stepping on the only toy in the room while walking through it in the dark, just wouldn't happen to me. Not to mention cool things like going to the video store to rent a super-popular movie on the day it's released and actually being able to get a copy. (Wow, what're the odds of *that* happenning?) Plus, the little bonus of being able to walk up to a roulette wheel, place a bet on 23, and walk away a winner.
