I know, I know, this makes two self-replies to my own message...but as I said, I could rant for days about this. [And besides, I talk to myself all the time anyway, so is it all that different? :)]
Anyway, I heard an example of another of my linguistic pet peeves not long ago: double comparatives and superlatives. For example, "That's the most dumbest thing I've heard!" (when only "dumbest" is needed), or "This shirt's more prettier than that one" (instead of just "prettier")...
