Apologies for bumping this thread, but the original poster makes a good point. The act of game show hosts kissing female contestants - whether Family Feud, or Card Sharks, or Match Game, or any game show in general - is downright illegal practice in 21st century America, unlike back in the 1980s.

Richard Dawson was #2 in rank among my favourite Family Feud hosts of all time - up until around 2006 (Ray Combs was and still is #1 on my list). But it turns out that I prefer Richard Karn and John O'Hurley next in line to Ray Combs. Because of Dawson's unethical practice that won't fly in today's society, Dawson is currently close to the bottom of my list (he ranks #4, and Louie at #5). The only Dawson-hosted episode I can handle watching is the finale of his daytime version from 1985, and maybe even the 1976 premiere, which I believe I saw on some video sharing site. Other than that, Ray Combs is the man I can handle who never did any unethical hosting style during his tenure. All Ray Combs did was give a firm handshake, and nothing unethical.

And if GSN realizes that today's America is exposed to such bad role model as a game show host who kisses contestants, maybe the network will pull the plug on the Dawson reruns for good and never see the light of day again. Besides, there are four different versions of Family Feud on the schedule now, and I think getting rid of Richard Dawson's version by 2012 is a step in the right direction to combat any influential sexual harassment on today's youth, not to mention trimming the overkill of Family Feud on today's schedule.
