Fantasy Quest 1, near the end, need help :)

Okay so this is my inventory:
sack
carrot
rope
hook
branch
silver key
gold key
sword (I've retrieved it for the second time)
shovel
scroll
hammer
nails
bow
arrow
fishing pole
club
ticket
winter coat
pass ring
float ring
sunstone
Alright, obviously I've been through the castle in the garden, exhausted every option, got out of the castle, and now I'm trying to get into the castle near the volcano. I've tried EVERY option at least three times, and it's gotten me nowhere.
Is there anything else more i need to do before i try to get into the volcano castle? Do I need to do something with the dog or even the winter coat? ( I have no idea what that thing's for...)
Do i need to go back to the forest or anywhere else in case i missed something?
Advice greatly appreciated :)
