I think one could argue that's not really the same as Captain America being dead.

But it doesn't matter, because I'm sure Steve Rogers will be back alive again in short order. This kind of nonsense is pretty much why I have pretty much no interest in serialized superhero comics that just run forever. Sooner or later, they have to reset everything.
