I have to use a search engine to get into sites where I don't know the whole URL. The address bar has been missing for about a month now and I really need it sometimes. Fortunately, the one on my laptop still appears.

My mom also recently learned that restarting usually "fixes" the problem. She likes to turn on and turn off the computer a lot now. The good part is, she and my grandmother are getting more tech-savvy in what they have to do (watch videos/Skype), so we don't have to constantly set it up for them.

By the way, if you want to type in the URL, you can always try Ctrl+L. In Mozilla Firefox, that puts you in the address bar, and on IE, that gives you a kind of pop-up box where you can enter in the URL. (I'm not quite sure if that works on other browsers, but it should be universal.) I'm pretty sure you can also change the settings to find the address bar again.
