One of the problems with waiting tables is that you have to take a lot of abuse. But there are good days when some happy person socks you with a tip that doubles the day's total.

I saw something that irked me, but there was not much I could do about it. We went to a favorite Mexican restaurant the other day and a man and a woman can in and had a difficult time communicating with a waiter who spoke limited English. They were asking about a change in ownership and he just never quite understood what they were talking about. He had no trouble getting the order straight, but the rest of the conversation went way over his head.

Anyway, when he came back with their drinks, they were gone. Their loss. Even with a change in ownership, the food was still excellent.
