One thing you can do is in the mines, starting at a spot where you can (and need to) jump from a speeding mine cart to avoid being killed in a narrow tunnel. After you jump, you can still hear the mine cart moving through the tunnel without you, and as it takes a circuitous path for a while, you can catch up to it somewhere else on foot if you are quick enough.

Also, you can get one (and only one) of the rubber tubes out of the OSMT. Which door to the OSMT is unlike the others?
